This was my contribution to Christmas Dinner. It was my own take on the Dessert of the Month in December's Martha: the Coconut Chocolate Charlotte. Several people in my family (most importantly, me) aren't wild about coconut, so I replaced the coconut custard with a mocha mousse.

My Father, aka doubting Thomas, believed my cake, custard and mousse creation would end up as a "puddle on a plate" once it was sliced into. My faith in Martha was strong and my creation was solid, rich and so very yummy. Next year I think I could greatly improve the presentation, and perhaps I'd do white chocolate custard as a contrast for the dark mocha mousse. All in all, however, I was quite pleased with dessert.
Thank you Ms. Stewart!.
